Banana S’Mores Trial: Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free
I’ve been wanting to try this recipe for banana s’mores from Quick Dish for awhile, since it looked easy and yummy. If you don’t want to call them smores since there’s no graham cracker like substance, than perhaps banana chocolate melts could satisfy you.
The Changes
The original recipe calls for topping it with cinnamon toast crunch. I just left that part out.
The Method
This is nice and easy to make. Start by slitting a banana most of the way through, and then stuff it with marshmallows and chocolate chips. I had one banana split all the way through, and I still made it work, though it was more messy. (note, the amount pictured here was not enough IMO. I would have much preferred more chocolate & marshmallow)
Wrap in foil and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes (or throw these on a grill or in a campfire) until chocolate and marshmallows are melted. Eat with a spoon.
Banana S’Mores
Adapted from Quick Dish Recipes
Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free
Ingredients
- Bananas
- Dairy-free chocolate chips
- Marshmallows
Slit each banana down the middle. Stuff with desired amount of marshmallows and chocolate chips. Wrap individually with foil. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes, until chocolate and marshmallows are melted. Eat with a spoon.
What I Thought
My husband and I liked these, though I would have preferred more stuff in the middle. My kids only touched a bit of the chocolate, and then were done. Ah well.

Nice idea. It’s like an ice-cream free sundae.
Yeah, it was. And the bananas tasted really nice warm.
p.s. I got the book! Thanks. It looks good.
You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy it!
